Are Your Fallopian Tubes Open?

HSG is short for hysterosalpingogram, which originates from Greek: gram = study; salpingo = tube or trumpet; hyster = uterus (aka study of the uterus and fallopian tubes).

It is typically performed by a Fertility Specialist (REI) or a Radiologist, and is usually done on cycle days 6-12. It is recommended to take Ibuprofen approx 1hr before the exam.
